HUMAN FACES 2019 (sketchbook renderings)
As a person who enjoys making abstract art; I finally thought it was time to get back to capturing reality. I believe one of the most difficult subjects to draw is the human being. The face, the figure, and those extremely difficult hand gestures. With these renderings, I selected random photos from the internet; purposely choosing everyday people. I really enjoy the diversity of the human race. Faces can be so fascinating. To capture the stories and emotions of a face in a photo or a drawing is quite the challenge. I was very daring during the process. I lightly sketched out the shape of the head, eyes, mouth, etc. Then I proceeded to mark in the areas with a confident unwavering - intuitional way of mark-making. Allowing the pieces to come to life in an organic manner. As well as, always incorporating my own personal twisted skew; for a punch of originality.
