CHILDREN'S BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS 2008
As a creative person, I feel it is important to put down on paper, whatever may be lingering in my brain. This way it will be documented, and ready to go, whenever the appropriate opportunity should arrive. I read this book titled "The Ariist's Way" when I was attending Art School. I employed 2 main take-aways from reading it. These were 1. The ability to nurture, protect and nourish the Artist within me. 2. To trick my brain and body into becoming a "natural conduit" for the flow of creativity. To this day I have put these ideas into practice; trusting myself to intuitively have access to an 'unknown well' of infinite creativity. This is why every time I approach the blank page, I see it not as a problem, but as an adventure waiting to unfold. This doesn't mean that there is a guaranteed fluid stream of creativity. It just means that with my experienced practice and trusted intuition, I am able to produce a Big Chunk of Art (Series) between spaces of time of not creating. It is amazing what a person can do, when you have the ability to retrain your mind. These are illustrations of a Children's Book which I had written. They were living in my creative mind for a while, so it felt good to finally put this story on to paper. And one day, when I'm able to self-publish, the story is ready..
