BRINGING JOY TO THE CALGARY SENIORS’ RESOURCE CENTRE – THROUGH COLOUR, ART, AND CONNECTION.
The walls are taking shape down at the Calgary Seniors' Resource Centre!
I was hired to paint 2 vibrant murals for their Northeast office. They were so pleased with the results, they decided to have me paint the entire office full of feature & accent walls. During this process, I have combined my creative art-making skills alongside my house painting skills.
Their office is a wonderful facility that provides many services to elderly people - at the same time. building and sustaining connections.Their tailored outreach helps older adults age gracefully at home, adapting to what works best. Located at 3639 26 St. NE

Design Explanation for the Feature Walls & Interior Artwork
The central theme for these feature walls was inspired by the incredible people who work at the Calgary Seniors’ Resource Centre—the compassion, resourcefulness, and genuine care they bring into the community every day.
A key influence behind the artwork was the phrase “sparking joy and connection” along with the idea of being “collaborators of joy.” I also drew from the organization’s value statements: kindness, collaboration, ingenuity, action, and connection.
The aesthetic of the artwork is bright, bold, and dynamic. Vibrant colours, playful geometry, and natural elements like flowers, birds, and wildlife come together to represent beauty, freedom, and the resilience of the human spirit.
A superhero motif and a painterly human face appear throughout the design—both representing the dedicated people who do this important social work, helping others live well and stay connected.
Hearts are incorporated across the walls as an expression of care and warmth.
The result is a welcoming environment designed to make every senior who walks through the doors feel valued, safe, and uplifted. A space filled with energy, optimism, and the unmistakable sense that this is a community that cares.
